Why does everyone think her presidency is finished? In that final scene, when Martin Mull mistakes the new president for Selina, he tells her that Nevada came in for her and that she won. Obviously that is where season 6 begins— regaining what they really won.

I wonder if it would even be possible to come up with a less believable premise, or more stupid, for that matter. But I suppose the writers were correct in assuming that their audience wouldn't be overly familiar with concepts such as sovereign rights or international law.
