The few EV+manual conversions I’ve seen don’t really need to change gears more than once. The massive, instant torque of the electric motor means they’re driving around town with almost no need to change out of 3rd or 4th gear.
IIRC, one generation of the Cadillac CTS-V used 6-lug hubs from a heavy duty truck. It was really weird to see 6 lugs on a mid-sized sedan.
The sound profile of that BRM engine is so cool. It sounds like 4 completely different engines blaring through a common exhaust.

Like it or not, luxury car brands sell all sorts of ridiculous lifestyle merchandise at a healthy markup. Tesla is just following the lead. Not that Tesla is a luxury brand, it’s just the MSRP of some of their cars is in luxury territory.
