It could be interesting to see what happened to that aborted revival Packard 1999? [www.autoblog.com]

Not only Lincoln but also Nash and Hudson did as well until early during the 1954 model year when a fire at the GM Hydra-matic plant destroyed the plant.

I read somewhere (I think it was a Ate Up with Motor [ateupwithmotor.com] ) then another factor who aborted the Packard-Nash merge was the rivalry between Romney and Nance to be the successor of George Mason (who saw the writting in the sky for the independents) and Nance wished to be Mason's successor but things

There was also an aborted attempt to revive Packard by using the Facel-Vega but Dailmer-Benz who did an agreement with Studebaker to distribute Mercedes, was opposed to the project. [stirredstraightup.blogspot.com] I spotted a picture of the "Facel-Packard" on Forum-Auto. And there was also an attempt for Packard to

Speaking of Russia, I spotted some links about the Packard journey there

Seems then the full-size Cherokee beginned to step in the Wagoneer territory until their downsizing for '84 when the full-size Wagoneer became the Grand Wagoneer.

Also add the "no-fun" guys who wants to let be stuck to "beige" but on the other hand Chrysler gambled with the 300, Challenger and Charger...

Looks like BMW removed the term "exclusivity" off their list and replaced by the term "common".

I wondered the same thing, I guess VW want to follow the same bumpy road then Toyota taked.;-)

I wondered if instead of killing Lincoln, what if Ford decided to sell Lincoln to another group instead? I readed once somewhere in the early-to-mid 1950s, they did studied that possibility but it didn't go further (besides then Packard trying to use the 1956-57 Lincoln bodies as an updated Packard).

+1 Ford shouldn't had dropped the ball with the LS, they could have make derivatives for the 2nd-gen like a 2-door coupe (a Mark IX) or even a CUV/wagon.

I wonder if that kid was inspired from that mid-1970s Italian movie named "Napoli Spara"?

A car going in the air and at the buttom of the sea like Supercar? ;-)

A classic to enjoy and to watch lots and lots of times! :-)

Good question, I still think Ford dropped the Falcon name too soon in Canada and the United States. I spotted this vintage promotionnal picture from Mexico titled "Ford Falcon Maverick". I guess Ford of Mexico menaged to recycle the Falcon moniker by blending it with the Maverick [www.flickr.com]

Speaking of NYC, I spotted some "before and after" pictures of some areas of Harlem taken in the 1980s and 2007 at [forum.skyscraperpage.com]

I spotted a nice vintage clip of a 1987 Thunderbird test-drive from Motorweek.
