The very worst case I’ve ever had was when first class was full but the attendant was throwing candy at me like no tomorrow and wanted to get me a drink. I was stuck in a tiny seat in the back next to an over sharer. It was hard but you’re right, it’s really fun to make someone’s day even if yours isn't so good!

Burner, I pull them out of my carry on and hand them to the first flight attendant I see greeting passengers. They’ll read the note when they get a minute, I usually just smile and say “this is for you guys” and move along to my assigned seat. Everything else just happens afterward.

Every time I fly, I bring a store bought, sealed package of cookies with a local flavor ( I’m in New England, so I go for maple) and write a nice note thanking the pilots and crew for working so hard and keeping us safe in the air. If there are any first class tickets available, I usually end up getting one as a thank
