Read some of the interviews with the actors of color who had to portray a founding father who was a slave owner. It's powerful to them to have to play them as heroic to the countries founding yet knowing that they also were horrible to a huge segment of humanity.

Laurens was the fierce abolitionist. Hamilton wanted to improve his status in life b/c he came from nothing.

Hamilton tix aren't any more expensive than most other shows on Broadway. They ARE harder to get though as they are sold out a year in advance. But Book of Mormon was almost as hard to get and just as expensive when it was the hot show.

Resale tix are overpriced. That is not the fault of the producers but the brokers and the states that allow them to flourish.

But that is no different than any other hot show on B'way. Hamilton just happens to be the hottest at the moment b/c the music/score is so good. Also the original cast was extremely special.

Exactly. Face value for ORCH is $200. Problem is they are just sold out a year in advance. There is now a CHI company and a soon to be LA and London company with a tour staring late next year as well.

It's also no longer playing on Broadway. LMM's wish is for as many people to see it as a live, in person performance as possible.
