I bet he's shitting his pants now.
I bet he's shitting his pants now.
Not on the non hormonal ones.
Now I want one...
Not at all. We need to know this stuff.
Is there a GIF for that?
It was the boyfriend, not you. You're fabulous.
Cramps are the worst. Here's a trick that was suggested to me when I had endo. Take a ratty old flannel sheet (and it must be an old ratty one). Pop it into the microwave for a minute (but WATCH IT while you're doing it — depending on the blanket and the microwave, they can scorch!). Adjust for time (I can pop it…
Mine did too but I think a lot of that was freedom from worry.
Again, and will somebody PLEASE answer me, how much do these things cost you guys? With/without insurance? I'm really curious.
Maybe next time (if you decide to try it again), you could ask for an advil and some lube? That might help.
So was mine. She showed it to me before she put it in. It was kind of cute.
Is the time limit thing something they recommend for the hormonal type IUDs? Because if memory serves (and it may not), I don't think this was the deal for the plain old copper version.
Even my old clunker had a synthetic string.
Since when have they ever been made with cotton strings?? Is this a US thing? I can see how cotton would be a breeding ground for bacteria, which is why up here the strings are NOT made of cotton. I've never heard of such a thing but admittedly, I'm out of the IUD loop. What brands use cotton? Sounds awful.
OK, this is mind boggling to me. HOW MUCH ARE THEY CHARGING YOU GIRLS FOR THESE THINGS?? In Canada, you make an appointment, you get an IUD. No money changes hands. I find it bizarre that this is a financial issue but I guess that's how it works (and I'm the first to admit I have zero concept of how the US system…
Maybe, though mine was a problem free relic.
I had a copper one and I *did* get in it way back when Christ was a cowboy. I opted to have it removed before 7 years was up, but I don't recall it ever being a time sensitive issue. Maybe the technology has changed.
I know I'm in the minority here. I'm weird that way but after that surprise pregnancy, my monthly cycle is a welcome thing.
Sounds like the OB/GYN didn't know what s/he was doing re insertion.
Umm...how is this not ultimately YOUR choice?
