China has a facial tracking/ID system.  The system manages your behavior and can affect real things such as credit rating.  Some of the protesters will destroy cameras and cover their faces to avoid retribution in this way. 

The key difference with all of this is who they are speaking out against.  There are a few liberal politicians that are being hypocritical about this as well.

Sony does a lot more than just media. In fact one of the reason Sony even got into the entertainment industry (hi columbia pictures), is so they would have titles to put out on their latest forms of media (bluray, etc.). This was something they learned the hard way when Betamax was released.

People are not properly taught how to protect themselves from cyberthreats. Most of the world is reactionary when it comes to anything.

I love Orbital.  They are a great live show.

I think that is up to the individual game and its designers. What gamer demographic are they going for? Is it hardcore? Casual? Bungie has been trying to combine the two (along with other companies) to various levels of success.

They really need to do a pc version of Skies.  I had that little memory device where you could play this little ship arcade game on it?
