This is one of the things I find puzzling about Bungie. Their Halo games were highly applauded for their matchmaking services.

I believe trading should be allowed. It should be handled similar to Diablo 3 does it now. If they were there, and in your party when it dropped, then it can be traded.
I don’t see why people should be upset if matchmaking is optional across the board.
