Not sure anyone with the surname “Finger” has standing to be mocking someone else’s last name.
It is based on his real life relationship. It also deals with the cultural divide that made that relationship more difficult than non-interracial relationship. What would the author have Nanjiani do? Fictionalize his actual relationship so it’s more representative?

RE: the CA travel ban story — it’s an ADDITIONAL four states. There are 12 states total classified as discriminatory.
Unless there were major deal breakers (blatant racism, sexism, Trump supporter or treats/tips waitstaff badly), I’d give it three dates. The whole “spark” thing is generally bullshit. Some people take a bit longer to get to know.
