LABEL OTHER END I refuse to reply directly to you. But,  you are not a woman. And just a sad person hiding behind a keyboard. Did typing that give you a thrill? Do you think you are changing peoples minds?

To me I think the loophole has to more in the case where it is a brother abusing a sister or kid on kid lets say where it is more of a statutory rape kind of thing (both parties willing). At least I hope so.

So that’s why her dad hates Obama.

There is just so much wrong here.

Uh, no. If Egg McMuffin wasn’t in the race, Trump would almost certainly have won both of those states, so the breakfast sandwich just reduces Trump’s final total. For Clinton to end up with less than 269, you need a map that looks something like the above. There’s no realistic way Trump wins Wisconsin, Nevada,

Except, we don’t actually have a “National Debt Problem”. As a measure of GDP (which is what it is supposed to be measured against) our debt is well below any of the other major industrialized countries. The only reason to discuss it now, would be because they can’t bring up the deficit anymore (another topic they did

Have the moderators been in her pocket or is she just the only sane candidate they are dealing with?

It’s not the worst argument. Too bad laches doesn’t apply to criminal cases. But I get his point.

I can still smell the belts on that old Kirby. It smelled like America.

They are not purporting to be in the law enforcement business, any more than an employer who fires an employee for theft is in the law enforcement business.

Exactly. Yet people seem to want sexual assault to be a special case that requires a conviction before it’s “real.”

Cheating on an exam is not against the law, but most schools will have some process to expel students for cheating. Student gets accused, student defends him/herself in front of a committee, committee decides if the evidence is bad enough for expulsion, and if so, bye bye. Police investigation has nothing to do with

Okay, for one thing, protecting any person’s rights necessarily involves compromise on the rights of others.

Cool, in the ‘real world’ I’ll tell my employer that if I allegedly do something that violates their policies and the law, that the legal system will handle it and they shouldn’t bother with their internal policies at all.

So how do you propose they discipline a student who sexually assaults another student? How should they protect the victim? If I beat someone up at their college, there are guidelines to deal with that, and they go up to and include expulsion. Surely you don’t think sexual assault should just be ignored?

I keep telling people, the “fallout” from trump fucking up our bonds and crashing the global economy would probably exceed that of an actual nuclear war. More people would die, just not quite as rapidly.

I am a lawyer. If you pay someone with 3900 dollars in loose change, you have to give them a reasonable amount of time to count it. In this case it would mean a trip to the bank to have the teller put the coins in a large machine that counts change. They would likely insist that you meet them at the bank to do this

You mean they’re using a forum that attracts millions upon millions of eyeballs to bring attention to something those eyeballs would otherwise ignore because it “doesn’t affect them?” Weird how being rich and famous affords people to make statements that would otherwise be lost if made by non-famous folks.

So if you’re successful, or received some benefit from the society you live in, you’re not allowed to protest what you see as unfair treatment of people who don’t have it as good as you do? That is literally your argument?

I would not presume to put words in your mouth- and it is possible to think the players are assholes while also being of the mind that “well Deadspin should report on it because this is happening in the sports world”. That being said, the Deadspin editorial position is decidedly pro-these protests, I’ll give you that.
