Since when do 12 year olds get to review super expensive cars?
I need to talk to you about increasing the power on my 4.3 V6 without a complete rebuild. Thoughts?
I'm actually on the hunt for a 2011 C4 GTS to replace my C4S...it's the ultimate in my opinion.
I think you are right, actual death was water-cooling, and I tend to agree with that.
I didn't say death of the 911 turbo, I said death of 911. But since they will like change what 911 turbo is, the platform has died. But as someone else pointed out, it actually died when it became water-cooled, which I tend to agree with.
This means the death of the 911, even if they pretend it's a 911. I'm sad and excited for the future at the same time. I wonder if this means my 997 will go up in value :-)
"Maybe it's for opening Champagne at stoplights... and cocaine, lots of cocaine."
I don't take issue with the bar, though it's not attractive on this generation of cars. I take issue with the excessive execution of the top mechanism. Adds too much weight and it's basically a dumb parlor trick. I prefer the original targas or the sliding glass roof targas or previous generations
I totally agree, I loved the old Targas. Just saw a wheeler dealer episode about a 993 targa yesterday and for a minute thought about replacing the 997 with one.
As a Porsche fanatic, I still somehow cannot get on board with these targas. Just seems like a lot of unnecessary weight for what ends up being a neat parlor trick. I cannot see myself even using the feature except to show my everyone the stupid trick my car does.
I'm can't get on board with this. I don't see craftsmanship, I see a man rattle-canning a 911. Outside of the fender flares and larger wheels, what's so special? And if he is actually putting massive spoilers on 911s like the online store shows, then I'm really out.
Unfortunately, it seems like Wisconsin isn't the only state to have signs like this. Depressing and distracting.
worst advice ever! Sure it's cheap now, but when the IMS bearing fails, you'll need a new engine. You could replace it proactively for the low low price of 4grand.
This is what I want to do next, so do it for me. Buy an already built resto-mod classic car and drive it for a year. Something like a '69 Camaro, '53 Cadillac, 52 Chevy pickup. Something like that, fully built and made ready to daily. I ould love to know what that's like before I do it myself.
But then you have to drive an ass-ugly 996 :-)
Well done sir, I already took your advice and got a Porsche :-). What I think I did learn, is that don't want a GT3, because I want to be able to drive it regularly. Your articles are how I decided the next car will be a 997 GTS.
I for one really enjoyed every article, mainly because I can relate. I will probably miss them unless you chose another car as equally exotic yet attainable.
GT3RS....drooooooll...wish i could afford that. GTS is as close as I'll get for awhile.
I agree wholeheartedly, I picked up a 997 4S for the same reason, however I'm already on the hunt for a GTS to replace it ...mooaarr power!
