Blizzard was one of the last “by gamers for gamers” companies. At least they did a good job of portraying themselves as such. It’s been so sad watching them undo decades of goodwill over the span of just a few short years by doing ALL the things that the old Blizzard would’ve prided itself in being above doing.

I don’t know if there is a phrase that I would more like to see retired than that one. Especially since it is so often used to validate poor treatment of people by law enforcement and the legal system. Especially since it is very often used to justify police brutality specifically. Not saying you meant it in any of

Ugh... yeah... the whole Hatred debacle is when it finally became clear to me that there is a sizeable portion of the gaming audience (and the media-consuming audience in general) who is so eager to combat “wokeness” and “SJWs” that they’ll rally around objectively terrible products just to own the libs or whatever.

And what’s frustrating is, there is absolutely no reason why Asylum and City can’t run just fine on Switch. People see stuff like this and they say “Well of course Switch can’t run that.” But it can. The Switch had very solid ports of games like Doom 2016 and Witcher 3. A developer just has to be willing to put in the

I can’t believe I actually thought I was going to be the first person to comment this lol.

That’s me as well. No shade to anyone who enjoys tinkering with settings and mods and all that, but I’m too lazy/impatient/ignorant for all that. I want to put in the game and play it. And I want to know that this machine that I bought will automatically run every game I buy for it without having to do a single extra

If you added up the cost of all the current-gen consoles in my house, it would still be less than a good gaming PC would cost.”

The days of churning out Ballad of Fat Tony and China Wars are long past but they COULD live again..” They don’t have to be. And if GTA Online hadn’t exploded, I guarantee that we would’ve either gotten GTA6 sooner, or we would’ve at least gotten something akin to Lost and the Damned and Gay Tony. But companies

In the past, I would’ve agreed with you. However, this generation is different in that the previous gen continues to co-exist alongside the new one, and brand new games still continue to be made for PS4 and Xbox One. Sometimes — though it’s becoming increasingly rare — only for those. Plus there’s Switch which has

My two main points whenever this comes up:

Too bad it doesn’t still run. Then Valve could’ve had something neat to display in their future Times Square retail store for the next 30 years.

Because if you’re willing to do that and have people willing to pay for it, that’s a pretty damn easy 20 bucks to make. Most people don’t suddenly stop making easy money just because they have a lot of it.

bought it at launch, and played it for 170 hours.”

I think they are just a little spoiled since they made a game (Skyrim) that people played for over a decade. The vast majority of games have their moment, a bunch of people play it in the beginning, and then after a few months they move on. I realize they spent a gazillion years making Starfield so they were counting

The term “indie” is pretty vague across all mediums. With music for instance, “indie rock” has come to define a specific sound rather than it having anything to do with budgets or publishers or anything like that. With movies, there are definitely films that are indie productions through and through — small budget, no

You’re just making it worse, Bethesda. Nobody ever wins when they start directly addressing and taking on internet dissenters. Especially if your response to people feeling like your game is boring is to say “No it isn’t.”

My question is: Was FuncoLand garbage too? I have really fond memories of FuncoLand and it felt like it truly was the magical video game wonderland that it advertised itself to be -- but I also have to remind myself that I was a kid when FuncoLand was still around and that certainly colored my feelings about it.

It’s hard not to default to Street Fighter II whenever I hear this question. It’s really difficult to top it in terms of how much it improved upon the original. It’s basically the quintessential video game sequel.

If I was a kid now, I absolutely would be content just getting subscriptions for X number of months of Game Pass, Switch Online, etc vs physical games.
