This was exactly my experience. The new face is the only face I knew, so it looks fine to me. And when I see the old one now I’m like “Ah! No! Don’t like!” lol

Totally. Gamers just don’t like their things to be changed. It’s tough to think of that many examples of a video game character’s look being changed and it not facing backlash. To me, it’s no different than there being a new James Bond every X amount of years, or hell, more to the point, a new Spider-Man actor. The

Do you get less prone to this stuff as you level up? Because I’m still early and I’m finding the constant need to take medicines, constantly having lung issues, etc to be severely hindering my enjoyment of the game. If it’s going to be an ongoing part of the experience, this isn’t going to be a game I play for very

Yeah, I’m sure that’s part of it. Controllers didn’t use to be $70+ each so it wasn’t a huge deal to just get a new controller if needed.

I’ve only ever had it happen with Switch. And it’s happened to me with MULTIPLE Switch controllers. But I have PS2 and PS1 controllers I still use on occasion that I have zero issues with. I’m also on my FOURTH Xbox 360 lol but every 360 controller I’ve ever had is still fine. At worst, the rubber on the sticks has

The only announced game that I think is going to be a Switch 2 game is Metroid Prime 4. I believe they’ll do a dual-release for both platforms like they did for Breath of the Wild and Twilight Princess. Or maybe even do an Xbox thing where it’s the same game but it either runs as last-gen or next-gen game depending on

Anyone else get Wario World vibes from this game? And as someone who liked that game more than most, that’s not a bad thing. Maybe it’s the focus on action, but it’s probably mostly the locked perspective.

I am fully rooting for this game’s redemption story, and I am always here for any game that got a rough start to have a redemption story. But for me personally, I don’t think I can go back. I played a decent amount of it before it got kind of repetitive and I wasn’t enjoying it anymore, and now it’s been too long for

One can define something as being “free” as long as they didn’t directly pay for that exact thing. It’s like when you get a “free tote bag” with the purchase of such and such thing at a grocery store. Yes, you had to purchase the thing to get the tote bag, but you didn’t pay for the tote bag itself so it’s still free.

Kojima would constantly say he was done with Metal Gear games, not so much that he was ever actually retiring. And it does seem like he at least wanted to be done with Metal Gear games, but Konami pushed him to keep doing them/the way they started selling staring with Metal Gear Solid kind of forced him to keep

This. And my additional (also cynical) take is that, by completely removing it from sale, he also gives it a sort of immortality. Like now it’s going to be this mythical “unavailable” game which will automatically increase its cultural cache even more.

Why do pirate games always seem to have troubled development cycles? This, Sea of Thieves, Galleon, the cancelled Pirates of the Caribbean game...

For me it started with the various AOL chatrooms devoted to video games, and then I moved onto forums. My go-to was the official forum for Official U.S. PlayStation Magazine when they were still hosted on Gamers.com (pre 1up days). Once that shut down, I never really found another one I clicked with — that, and I just

Fine by me. I’d rather they get to work on planning the next game rather that fuss around with DLC for this one for a year or two.

Gris was also surprise-added to Game Pass yesterday. Hardly see anyone talking about it.

Anyone else get a little sad when you read something like this and confirms just how little direct involvement Miyamoto has with actually making Mario games anymore? I know that’s how it works, especially in Japanese game companies, that people shift to more advisory/overseer type roles as they advance in their

Meanwhile, the new Sonic game has been mostly showing off a level that looks like Green Hill Zone... again...

This was the most giddy I’ve been watching footage for an upcoming Mario game since they first showed off Mario Galaxy.

Thank you. So many people say this like it’s universal and every single library in the entire country does it. That’s not the case. Hell, my local library didn’t even start having DVDs until like 10 years after that started to become a thing.

If this thing could double as a controller for the console directly, that added bit of functionality would make a more enticing package.”
