I know, I don’t know why they bother with SNL reviews, since every one is a variation on, “Not even [Insert Celebrity] Can Save a Middling SNL”

See, I had a fairly different reaction to the story of Laura Lee. I’ll preface by saying I’m not an active, church going Christian, though I have read a fair bit of Christian theology. But I regard it, and apply it here, as an element of culture, not the dogma of a true believer.
If anything, an elite high school soccer team at that level would have more than just two gay players.
So now with the coach’s reveal, does this high school soccer team have a disproportionate number of gay members on it? All for it but maybe not the most realistic, but who cares.
So Adam is working with Jeff to do the blackmail, then? He’s definitely involved in it, way too suspicious of him to turn up at Shauna’s house just then.
Notice she lists Titanic, American Beauty, Bring it On and (partly visible) Ten Things I hate About You, all of which came out after the crash. Bring it on dates to 2000. This indicates that Jackie made it out of the woods, but died later. Contextual clues indicates Shauna married Jeff around 2001-2002. the timing…
I lost it when Misty was blasting Phantom of the Opera in her car. Delightfully deranged.
Diggle’s whole situation last season seem to be more about CW wanting David Ramsay to guest-star(so they can promote his appearances) in return for letting him direct, and not about giving a shit about Green Lantern or even Diggle himself.
oh my fuck you are eight seasons in why are you still deciding if your hero has an absolute line around killing or not. it’s not even a new and more-dangerous-than-ever villain, it’s the same dickhead who’s been buzzing around the whole show.
The “Mia Queen shows up on a quest of her own” aspect of the episode reminded me of the experience of reading comics crossovers. They always wanted you to pick up one issue of a title you don’t read just so you could have “the full story,” whether or not the hero of that book was currently in part 3 of their own…
Well, the actors from the shows that have ended are available. Also we have more emotional attachment to characters like Ray and Alex and Jefferson and the Darhks. And Mia Smoak ... was also in this episode
Remember back in S2 when Harry showed up from Earth-2 and Joe walked in and just started firing bullets without waiting for any explanation?
I believe there was a reference to Barbara Gordon in Season 1 and Alfred was mentioned as retired, but that's it. Stephanie Brown was introduced last season and was never Batgirl in any capacity yet.
I don’t know how anyone pulls of five seasons’ worth of something presenting itself as a taut, tense psychological thriller. I was definitely sad to hear that’s the plan.
As I figured, Chyler Leigh didn’t get one line and her entire appearance amounted to standing around and staring for a few seconds. My understanding is that the final eps of Supergirl were filming around the same time as this, so I get that her availability was limited, but I hope she doesn’t wrap up her Flash eps…
Curran is actually a good actor - he’s acting terribly here because someone told him to. That’s just the Flash house style.
The thing that drives me crazy is that EOBARD THAWNE DOES NOT LOOK LIKE THAT. Apparently he altered his appearance to look like Tom Cavanaugh in every timeline and never bothered to change it back, but his for-real face belongs to Matt Letscher, and I get why you want to bring back the actor who played a beloved…
Now that I think of it...the credits spoiled Chyler Leigh and Javica Leslie, one of whom didn’t even have a line (?), but am I right that they didn’t mention Cavanagh? (My recording’s gone so I can’t check.)
Ryan Choi was there too, but I couldn’t place that guy next to him.
