That scene was some of the best Kara-Lena (as opposed to Supergirl-Lena) content we’ve gotten since season two. I know a lot of folks are sick of her lying to Lena, and I get it, but I agree with Caroline—I think the secret identity is a more important part of the Super-mythos than it is on, say, The Flash, and I

Tessa was a goner the second she started being helpful. The girls don’t need two whitelighters and there’s no way Harry was headed anywhere. Come to think of it, the original series had pretty much the exact same plot with a hardass replacement whitelighter who was dead by the end of the episode.

I was surprised by that too! Guess she had to be pretty young when she showed up as little Gracie on Orphan Black.

Jesus, really? They're just going all in on making him discount bin Cole, huh?

...huh?

There were a lot of cool Supergirl action sequences tonight—not just the overdue hallway fight scene (every superhero show must have a hallway fight scene), but the car rescue and the literal boxing match with Otis too. It’s like they were letting us binge a bit before Kara hangs up the cape for an episode or two.

I don’t think Fiona can match the Charmed Ones together (“Power of Three” etc.), but she’s a major threat to them one on one, especially since they’re still rookies. Also, she might be becoming the Source or something? I dunno, I’m a little in the weeds when it comes to the overarching plot.

I also wish Sara had grabbed the watch, but more than that I really hope Legends starts putting her into more fight scenes. I didn’t even realize how much I missed watching Caity Lotz kick ass until last night’s Arrow. And the Waverider definitely has room for a salmon ladder, right?

Let’s be real: during Lance family trips, Sara was definitely the puncher and Laurel was definitely the punchee.

I was really hoping someone would pick up Bartolo Colón as it gives me great joy to know there’s a guy out there who’s been playing professional baseball since before I was born.

I’m honestly really pissed they used the White House scene in the trailer because I think it would have been genuinely shocking if they hadn’t promoted it so much. And it’s not like they didn’t have other action scenes to pull from to make an exciting promo—they could have easily used the Metallo fight instead and

Who’da thunk the Mueller report would come out right before an episode about a megalomaniacal American billionaire colluding with Russia Kasnia while also stoking xenophobic groups back home? Nice timing there, Supergirl.

I was a bit nervous reading about the Blum character in pre-air interviews and such because I wasn’t a fan of how The Good Wife sometimes inserted certain two-dimensional male characters who seemed to exist purely to piss off the female protagonists (and, by proxy, the audience). Sometimes it worked—arguably Mike

Everyone’s wondering whether Crisis is gonna merge Supergirl and Arrow/Flash universes together, while ignoring the far superior possibility...

Nyssa to a tiny Mia: "Try dipping your fries in your milkshake."

Nyssa being there for her sister-wife is easily my favorite thing from this episode.

Gotta say I disagree with most of the criticism here, at least from as far as plot logic goes. Lex and Lena being in contact doesn’t seem like much of a retcon to me considering the foreshadowing a few weeks ago (is it possible Supergirl was actually too subtle for once?!). And Kelly being weirdly chill is directly

Maybe, but considering how much this show loves the Longbow Hunters comic, it might just be a nod to that instead.

I think you’re right. To really get into pretty much goes against the grain of the appeal of the show—watching a guy in a costume catch the bad guys that the cops couldn’t. But this episode in particular bothered me because it felt like they were suggesting that the reason SCPD has been so laughably ineffective over

I’ve long since given up on this show being willing to grapple with moral implications of vigilante violence (and after the gun control episode, I’m pretty sure I don’t want it to), but it was mildly frustrating to watch an entire episode about our vigilantes clashing with SCPD rules without acknowledging that those
