Kinda wish they’d stayed with that for the show. Instead they initially made him a weird combo of love interest and mentor figure, which didn’t work because A) he and Kara didn’t have much chemistry, and B) she already had a surplus of mentors in Cat Grant, Alex, and J’onn as season one went on (“Hank” was initially

Back in season one several of the Fort Rozz aliens seemed to know her Kryptonian name and I’ve always wondered if it’s just an open secret in the alien community at this point.

Well now I feel bad for ragging on James last week!

Just realized that if he does leave, that makes the third Arrowverse show that saw the recent departure of its male tech-nerd character (Winn, Curtis, and possibly Cisco). If you go back a bit farther you could count Stein as well (though I think Ray Palmer fits that archetype a bit better).

That breakup was a little too sudden for me to trust it yet (plus I still think something more is going on with Lena). Then again so was his breakup with Kara, and then definitely stuck.

So THAT’s why he’s always looked very vaguely familiar to me!

The only other character he’s had any chemistry with was Winn, which leaves him a little orphaned this season.

I was honestly starting to think this season that maybe it was a mistake to bump Lena to regular, because it really seemed like they weren’t sure what to do with her and the character was far less entertaining than she was when she was first introduced. But man, one scene with Alex and it’s pretty apparent the problem

Considering how much she’s been messing with that Harun-El stuff and kryptonite and Lex’s history of getting cancer from kryptonite in the comics, you might actually be on to something.

I have no idea but considering he can phase through the earth, I choose to believe he’s left dozens of inaccessible subterranean caves filled with like, 50 year old bobbleheads and shit.

Yeah I was just going by the wiki which puts her DOB in 1989. I do remember a line from season two where she says she’s “almost 30" so who the hell knows. With all of the education she's supposed to have, Alex's timeline only makes sense if Barry Allen was somehow involved.

That’s a fair point but I really doubt most viewers would hold Supergirl—of all shows—to a realistic standard on this kind of thing. We've already seen what a glorious Looney Toons legal system they've got over on Arrow and the Flash.

She’s also supposed to be, like, 29. I get why they introduced the idea of her being a mother so early—it was an easy way to write out Floriana Lima without making either of them the bad guy—but there’s absolute zero reason for them to go down this path right goddamn now. I really thought that based on how they

Yeah I think there’s definitely more going with Lena. She was pretty upset about something even before Haley showed up, and during their conversation she didn’t seem particularly keen on working with the government. She then specifically brought up the possibility with James right before their getaway, like she was

I kinda love it. The man’s centuries old—you’re telling me he hasn’t picked up some tchotchkes along the way?

I think Allison Shoemaker is at TCAs so we might not get one this week.

Yeah, but the CW’s never exactly played by the normal network rules when it comes to that kind of thing (worth noting they already renewed everything except for All American).

I actually liked it! I mean, those interviews completely fall apart if you think about it too hard (do people know Sara’s alive again? Did they seriously do interviews in Argus HQ? Is Argus not some super secret organization anymore? Did they not include Tommy in the nostalgia trip because Colin Donnell didn’t want to

Re: Black Lightning: I think the principal was supposed to seem unsympathetic. He’s supposed to come off as one of those blinkered white guys who thinks because he had a rough childhood, he can’t possibly be racist and certainly never benefited from white privilege in any way. Personally I have trouble with the

Honestly my favorite part about this is that Sam Waterston on Newsroom turned out to be less Jack McCoy and more delightful little bowtie elf.
