Healthy teeth are white. So are snowflakes, come to that.

I’m not a conservative. But it’s telling, frankly, that you assumed that because I questioned what I see as frequent overreactions to stuff like this.
I would never suggest that. It’s this or adjunct professor at a community college.
a) The reaction is emblematic of a larger trend
I think each of those complaints are ridiculous. BUT THEY VOTE.
But my issue is this: if someone concedes that Nivea did not literally mean “white skin is equivalent to purity,” then...what exactly causes the offense? The idea that if someone willfully distorts the message of an ad enough, it “could have” meant something objectionable. It seems like what that’s really saying is…
Fair enough, Richard. I appreciate you taking the time.
Because reactions like these indicative of are the left’s ability to cannibalize itself, especially when applied to political candidates. It’s not the literal causal link you’re willfully misinterpreting as my point.
Okay. Let’s see what the turnout is.

After the outrage of this dies down in 5 minutes, there’ll be another thing to get overly sensitive about. Then another. Then another. Then the Democratic congressional nominees will give a speech about inclusion that could have been ‘worded’ slightly better, and they’ll be forced to apologize. And then the party’s…
Don’t call me Shirley.
It’s emblematic of a culture of language policing that keeps people caught in a cycle of performative outrage (often not quite sure WHAT they’re supposed to be angry about) and apologies (that people don’t really mean, and usually shouldn’t) that ultimately serves as an exhausting distraction.
If I worked for the RNC (unlikely), this comment—and this thread in general—would make me feel so relieved.
It’s always funny to me that the people who ostensibly care the most about racism and its impacts are the ones who throw the term ‘racist’ around until it loses all meaning. CLEARLY Nivea was advocating for some sort of white supremacist utopia in their ad.
He must’ve meant Mandy Patinkin.
The fact that you included VF’s reference to Dr. Strange (an enormous hit) sort of undoes your thesis, no?
He. But clearly you’re a huge fan of the show.
How did Anthony Anderson become the only accused rapist who never has this brought up by Jezebel? Is the liberal guilt over there really that strong?
Can’t imagine why Janet Hubert didn’t show up...
