I’m glad to see Amy Schumer has lain low for long enough that the women of Jezebel have decided they can be nice to her again.

Funnily enough. Mia Farrow would disagree with you re: shunning Polanski

It was investigated thoroughly. Twice. How is that being “brushed aside”?

Every small child must be treated like Billy Mumy in Twilight Zone

Funnily enough, that screenshot didn’t include the part where she pursued him and told him she didn’t have a boyfriend “when he was around.”

Yeah, but that’s not sexual misconduct, which is what this article called it.

Nate Parker.

So why are white women in their 20s and 30s climbing over each other to scream about how Beyoncé is queen of the world or whatever?

Older men are attracted to younger women. It doesn’t make you a pedophile. Also, no one questioning whether he really molested her is looking to be his new best friend. You can still admire his work and resent him being lumped in with Cosby/Weinstein/Ailes etc.

An accusation investigated at the time and found to be not credible? Also, she was 6 or 7. There’s a reason criminal investigations don’t take claims from little kids as gospel.

For those new to the site, “murky and troubling” is how commenters refer to allegations against men they’re a fan of. Otherwise, the men are guilty until proven innocent.

eh

Famed humanitarian Frank Sinatra, on the other hand...

When AVClub went under the same umbrella as Jezebel...I think these are the comments we all dreamed of.

What does “change our social attitudes” mean, though? If someone even gets accused of something, they should be shunned by society? That’s a great strategy until, God forbid, you or someone close to you ever got unjustly accused of something.

The worst thing about Woody Allen is that he’s not sufficiently steeped in Gender Theory terminology. It’s not too late for him to go back and get that degree.

He’s obviously a great impressionist, but a) he did Trump in the 2015-16 season, and b) his Trump doesn’t really line up with the version we’ve seen the past couple years any better than Baldwin’s.

Every time I read one of these reviews, I picture you sitting on your couch, applauding vigorously at every joke that seems designed to elicit that reaction as opposed to actual laughter.

what about the hard-hit double from Russell? Or the HBP? Scherzer’s not blameless.

I’d be surprised if the people at SNL had high hopes for them based on that stuff, or were even familiar with it. That said, people out of the Disney/Nickolodeon factory have tended to do well on SNL; for some reason, the skill sets match up well (even someone like Christina Aguilera excelled on the show).
