I look forward to Jezebel describing any positive developments over the next four years as “Trump-era.”

I couldn’t help but laugh that you (or the editor) felt the need to reassure everyone that it was an “Obama-era bill.” Lest Trump, even for a second, be tangentially linked to something positive.
Please. You put a black actor in the lead, change nothing else, and everyone on this site would have showered the film in adulation.
You have no idea whether or not he did anything worth showing remorse over. That’s the point.
The phrase “power imbalance” is getting thrown around a little too freely these days. One person wrote an article making an argument; someone else wrote an article refuting that argument. The kid isn’t tying to make it in Hollywood. Where does the “imbalance” come into play?
Only if you repeat after me:
You’re really gonna pick another fight with Ted Cruz?
...Dad?
Glad you got out of the greys.
Fair enough. The absolutist approach to free speech is more of a thing here than in Europe. For the record, I don’t blame you personally for the Holocaust, if that makes you feel better.
Well, you make some valid points.
Protests are one thing. Setting things on fire and breaking windows are another.
And that was awful. But things that are not as bad as that can also be objected to.
The people who set things on fire and damaged property. I don’t know if they knew who was a student and who was some visiting rioter, but the general tone in campus reaction from the student body was definitely not to condemn the violent nature of the protests.
There was a lot of support and sympathy from the student body afterwards.
When you a house you have insurance on, and people come by and smash your windows and try to set it on fire, come back to this thread and let us know whether you consider it an act of violence.
The self-congratulatory round of applause you’re hearing in your head right now is not real. I would call a doctor.
Every time I read a comment like this, I think “wow, that person totally wrote that because he knows he won an argument without question, and definitely not because he ran out of counterpoints to make.”
This counterargument I’m seeing more of—that you’re not being silenced if the government isn’t cracking down on you—seems to excuse a lot of things that feel a lot like de facto silencing.
In that case, I look forward to reading about you beating on any Gawker media alumni, should you run into them.
