I do. My gamertag and gamesaves are all on a 16 gb thumb drive I take with me on trips. But I'm also smart enough to leave it in when saving, and to keep my son away from the console while saving / accessing the memory.

We have our new Wii linked to Club Nintendo, can't remember if we did with our old one or not, my wife says it was. But when we talked to Nintendo over the phone about getting our purchases moved over to the new one all we got was a basic "lolnope" and a smug tone of disbelief about a Nintendo product malfunctioning.

See, the way they said it, I interpreted it as you'll be able to move them to the new system via SD card / mass storage, not in the tracked purchases / redownload onto a new system sense.
