@Gex: There are more disruptive children since people started digging into their neighbors lives and got the local governments involved; parents are now either apathetic to the idea of parenting, or afraid to.

I'm all for paddling (within reason). But it should be done in the home, by the parents. So then the kids might be in line before they get to school. I got the belt (at least on one occasion, the buckle), the switch, the hand when I was growing up. Was it entirely effective? Mostly so.
