Not even no one was listening . . . they called him a liar and vilified him in public. Corey at least has thousands of supporters. It breaks my heart that this happens ALL THE TIME to women and men who don’t have the public backing or financial power to continue the fight.

Yeah why should the police care about powerful men who have probably still abusing young boys till this day.

He literally named names to the police and they did nothing! That’s infuriating.

Let me get this straight, they had that info for, in essence, 25 YEARS now.........and NOW they’s admitting to having it?!

I’m so happy for Corey. To me, he’s like the Rose McGowan of the boy set. He kept crying out, and no one was listening.

And yet you have assholes whining, “Why didn’t they speak up sooner?!?” I’m getting the impression no one actually cares about rape/sexual assault - either because they (men) have a vested interest in women being disbelieved or because it’s so normalized, people are ok with it being something that “just happens.”

I’m not yet 30, and I was just as in the dark. I also don’t have cable, though.

I think part of the reason that it’s been such a quiet issue for so long in the LGBT+ community is because of fear that it will play into the “deviant sexual predators” narrative that the Right has used in the past to justify their abuse of members of the community. That’s not to say that it is acceptable or should

Alcott was deeply, terribly ambivalent about her Little Women books. They were the only ones that really had any commercial success or critical acclaim, and she hated them. She thought they were boring, stupid, safe little stories of drivel for boring, stupid, safe little babies. Like Jo, she wanted to write thrillers

I love the Coen Brothers, and I love Miller’s Crossing, but Miller’s Crossing isn’t even the most famous Coen Brothers movie. It’s not even the, like, 5th most famous Coen Brothers movie. The Usual Suspects is one of the most famous 90s movies.

Yes, exactly - Weinstein may not have cared that it got around the he ‘tried’ with Gwyneth Paltrow but he had to pay-off/NDA his rape victims... So people like Brad Pitt think, ‘Oh Harvey is the slime ball who tried to get with my girlfriend’ not ‘Oh, Harvey is a rapist’... I’m sure it is the same with Spacey - people

Only because we all pretend we didn’t watch The Man in the Iron Mask.

Counter-argument

In my house our go to Gabriel Byrne movie is that Christmas tradition Ghost Ship.

Now playing

They are both excellent movies for very different reasons, but Miller’s Crossing doesn’t even come close to level of cultural significance and recognition that Usual Suspects has. John Turturro goes toe to toe with Byrne in Miller’s Crossing, and it’s not even his most famous film.

No it doesn’t...by basically every measure conceivable Miller’s Crossing is not even in the same conversation as Usual Suspects...U.S has eight times more IMDB ratings...did 7 times the box office...and on and on...I know we live in Trumpland now where common sense and facts no longer seem to matter...but, no, under

BTW, #TeamCoenBros never molested anyone.

I love Gabriel Byrne, so I was really worried when I saw his name show up on Jezebel.

His most famous movie (in my heart and my loins):

Eh... people honestly don’t know. It’s part not wanting to know, but predators camouflage themselves pretty good. Also people who know the truth sometimes hide it to protect others. Several abrupt moves in my past came up in conversation with my mom recently and I was blindsided by a few things.
