Just to add to that - if you watch the video here (http://jalopnik.com/watch-the-28-5…) and go to about 43 seconds in you can see Duncan pumping with his left hand - this will be to get the fuel pressure up.

It’s called the Edwardian Race at VSCC Mallory. Every year we run a race where all cars are pre WWI and most have this sort of set-up (although not an engine this big!).
Called a total-loss oil system. Virtually all cars pre-1900 used this system - the oil was drip fed from a reservoir, run through the engine and then burnt.
The role of the Clerk is basically to run the actual race meeting itself (again - the MSA Yearbook!): “The Clerk of the Course has overall responsibility for the general conduct and control of an event in accordance with the Regulations, Programme and Organising Permit”
There are scrutineers at every organised motoring event that is sanctioned by the motoring governing body of the host country (the MSA in the UK). Basically it is their job to check that the car meets all of the required safety legislation.
So if it’s pressure I would assume, given the B in the dial, that it is fuel tank pressure (with the B for Benzina) and the dial next to it with O would be for oil (oilo?) pressure.

I’ll go looking for it...

I’ve only ever played Street Rod - had no idea there was a second one!
There was a link a while ago to play this online but I can’t find it now! Brilliant game - spent hours of my childhood playing this.
There are so many of his sites it’s unbelievable! I just found this one (http://superreplicaslamborghini.com/index.php) which claims to have been producing replicas for 30 years!! Not only that, but there are links to all his other scam replica sites on the homepage!!
They are pretty. Get to see them (well 328s and lower powered variants) quite often during the summer with the car meets I go to - always think they look lovely.
I had come here to post this exact car :-)
In America we have generations of families driving Ford’s, GM’s and Chrysler’s, in Great Britain there are generations of Jaaaaags. But in France they use Bugattis! It is hard to remember why we make fun of France so much right this second.
I want my dad to hoon a Royale.
Sorry for double posting. I didn’t see any way to modify me earlier post.
Sorry but the Alvis FWD had the Cord beat in terms of production year. Alvis started production in 1928... http://www.alvisregister.co.uk/vintage/fwd/
I have literally just (as in 2 hours ago) picked up my first ever estate (sorry - wagon for the guys on the other side of the pond). It’s a Ford Focus and I have managed to ditch de dirty diesel in the form of a 1.6 EcoBoost with 19k miles. Even in Europe, where Diesel is currently king, I managed to find a nicely…
Ah - you got here before me:-) Good call.
