I just finished this season & am surprised by all the negative comments. I loved the riot, both the lighter comedic moments & the way they highlighted more serious issues. The whole season was basically a tribute to Poussay (& the sad realization that nothing they do matters).

I was OK with Deb dying, but her sudden realization that she's been secretly in love with her brother all this time ruined the whole show for me.

How many has he fired? I've lost count.

There was a scene this season with a waitress calling him John & asking about his kid. I didn't understand the point of it at the time, but it was a good reminder to tie into the photos in the finale.

They definitely made it seem like the CPS lady was up to something. It was a little reminder of how good Homeland is at building tension, unfortunately for no apparent reason. Foreshadowing for next season?

Frannie adds another layer to Carrie, but she also makes for some contrived story situations to explain where the kid is. Carrie can't be running around doing spy stuff & still be home on time for dinner.

You honestly think Carrie deserves to be locked up because she wasn't going to keep Quinn's dirty sweat pants & drawer full of underwear? Nothing she tossed was meaningful in any way. The most significant part was that she obviously hadn't been able to set foot in his basement apartment in the 6 weeks since his death.

The President had a target on her back from episode 1 of this season. Dar & Saul were worried she was going to shut down the CIA completely, bring the troops home, & de-fund a good chunk of the military & intelligence budget.

I think she means the safe house in Berlin in season 5. Carrie goes off her meds & snorts lines of caffeine to boost her bipolar superpowers & figure out who's trying to kill her. There's a comment about how the sex is better too. Brutal message to send to people struggling with any kind of mental illness.

I was surprised Carrie wasn't more careful, since it seemed clear to me that if the alarm wasn't set, someone was probably still in the house. It's possible Quinn turned around & came back when he realized the watch cap dude wasn't with the rest of the guys, but I like your "Carrie as bait" theory better.

I assumed a lot of the protesters were paid shills, just like the online troll operation. Some of them had the same signs as the photos from Quinn's fake blog.

And no password on the laptop. In 2017, that's not a spy thing, it's a default.

Season 4 is one of the best for me too. From the drone attacks to Carrie sleeping with that poor kid to the embassy attack, just pure craziness. I think I binge watched the whole season over a weekend.

Fara died in his arms, so safe to say he was quite devastated by it. He tore a strip out of Carrie for even bringing her to Pakistan & putting her in the field.

How often was Astrid in the field? I agree that I was disappointed she was killed like a deer in the headlights, but it seems like she's been working more of a desk job for the Germans. Had we ever seen her fire a gun?

Sekou in particular was depicted as really angry, with multiple explosive outbursts. I thought the show was setting him up to be innocent now, but even more radicalized after the arrest, eventually planning a real terrorist act. Personally, I appreciate that Homeland doesn't depict every Muslim character as a suicide

I really thought it was all in Quinn's head & the dude just happened to be crossing the street. Was a nice twist to see the name of the van & realize Quinn was actually right.

Interesting! Thanks.

I just finished season 5, so I'm way behind, but wanted to say I totally agree. I liked the way they showed the vastly different opinions, even within the jihadi group. The professor assisting them was an atheist. The young girls being recruited as ISIS brides - lost, damaged, just looking for meaning & a sense of

I was wondering that too. What kind of education does she have? I can't remember if there's been mention of what she did before coming into law enforcement, but I suppose it's possible she has a law degree.
