I've at least heard of the first two books - but I've never heard of The Last American Vampire. Was that book successful?

How did he know that those guys wouldn't die from complications resulting from the gunshot wounds to the leg? He didn't know, and therefore his logic subroutines should have initiated a self destruct sequence. This is basic programming!
