I don't know anything about her except I recently learned that she is a Kosovaran immigrant to the UK and I think it's good for people to learn more about that part of Europe.

No, that's horrible. But there is a general culture clash in certain discourses and victim blaming and bootstrapping is among them.
I agree that it is important and brave of her to talk about her rape experience and make that part of public discourse, especially so the kind of celebrity worshipping soccer mom audience that watches that show.
It was probably her life coach.
I mentioned that above.
When I was in the age bracket that, say, Miley Cyrus' fans were, I was obsessed with Bob Dylan. I watched No Direction Home and fell in love with Joan Baez. She informed the person I am today. I cannot ever thank her enough for forming my awareness as a political person. To learn about feminism, about the Civil Rights…
You know what, as people could see from my comments lately, I somehow got stuck on Jezebel even though I realize more and more that I should stop coming here both because of the ideological position it's writers embrace as well as the readership this attracts. Which this thread is full of.
I'm not into right wing bullshit. It's the European in me.
For Jezebel commenters. See the recent argument about linking feminism with capitalism.
No, you are right. I should leave Jezebel but I see nothing wrong with voicing my disappointment with the values its readership espouses.
As I said, I see a great problem with that and I'm not particularly into the American 'go you' narrative about anything and everything.
I don't think so. I came to Jezebel erroneously assuming its content and readership were about something else than it turned out to be and consequently was able to get a pretty good picture of the target audience. Which I'm not.
There is nothing wrong pointing out that someone employs very troublesome discursive conceptualizations about something on a public platform and thus creating and supporting a specific narrative that has proven to be very harmful.
We feel the same about Jezebel but I never said that she was 'self-absorbed' about being raped.
There is Jezebel in it's full force! Didn't take long.
Please provide another word for snark, I find the term reductive.
well, she talks about fashion and baking souffles instead of feminist literature, that's a factor too.
Oh, look it's a tree. We've been here before.
I know and understood yours quite well in your first post and the other posts regarding this topic, thank you.
No, I know exactly what your tone is. I'm just not into it at all.
