And more importantly one that was built to meet the standards required at the time.

Well, I’d agree the exposure to a single $1.7 billion judgement is not a company killer by any means.

No vehicles on the road meet the new 720-half-corkscrew-kick-flip standard for e-bike collision that NHTSA may implement in 7 years, so we should pull all vehicles off the road now to be extra safe.

If there actually was some gross corporate malfeasance here, I’d agree with your sarcasm.

Yeah, that award is completely ludicrous and should be chopped down by 99% (17 million award is more in line)

Was hoping I wasn’t the only one who thought that penalty was insanely high on a truck 10+ years past it’s warranty end date....

Right? Seems obvious. I doubt 5% of these fools could drift around a roundabout.

It also comes in various sizes, as does the Transit, to suit every need.

The Transit Connect is perfect for Boston-area contractors.  Carries lots of shit and fits in tight parking spaces.

1st.Gear, Ford shares are also down because of a $1.7 billion product liability verdict from a Georgia jury on a 20 year old truck after some octogenarian driver got a flat tire on the highway and lost control, killing himself and his elderly wife.

TBH, the Transit Connect is to small, if it was the size of modern minivans and built on the CD4 or CD6 chassis it would have sold better.

sure and who will cover insurance and maintenance on this - how much will you charge people per hour to come in and do this - what is the list of safety rules they will have to sign a waiver for -

The only way to stop this is to have a cop infiltrate the takeover crews and learn where they plan to do their take overs so they can have cops ready to roll.

Thank you. 4 grand is nothing to a mid-sized city.

$4k is a cheap experiment. It’s tough to find something that would make driving only unpleasant for the drifters and not for everyone else, much less avoiding making driving through the intersection more dangerous for normal drivers.

I remember the Big Bang Meetings a while back. It was usually held in a big shopping center around 9pm with small spot dedicated to donuts. I guess it was still ‘destruction of property’, but at least it was off the streets. cops came about 11pm and kicked everyone out at 12. I don’t really remember those meets
