I find it interesting that they’re restricting it to offense only, because I actually feel like you might want to do so on defense more than offense - it’s the end of the half/game and you know the WNBA equivalent of James Harden isn’t going to put forth effort on the last defensive possession, so you tag out for a

Alternatively, the team could actually be relegated so you could finally learn what the Pirates playing winning baseball looks like.

I do the same thing. I set the limit slightly higher just to cut down on emails, but yeah, you should absolutely have an alert set for when your card is used.

you lock yourself into perpetual mediocrity because no decent free agent will sign for your sub-.500 team.

Legally, I think there’s a way to do it. When owners buy teams, they already are required to agree to certain contractual terms and can be punished (even to the point of being forced to sell) if they violate the rules. So it might take some fancy legalese to avoid loopholes, but you could probably do it.

I actually think you could have a very interesting discussion on any one of those items you mentioned. And if the professors had discussed specific items, it could be an interesting thing to think about...but they didn’t.

Yeah, “unprotected Miami pick!” sounds great until you remember that that Miami has an owner who is willing to spend even on middling playoff teams and a GM who has never shown the slightest interest in a true rebuild and a market that draws free agents.

Another possible solution would be an NFL-stylefranchise player” tag, so you can re-sign someone with a full max offer but without cap-shattering levels of expense. Doesn’t seem to be much appetite for this (and it’s a flawed solution in many ways), but I could definitely see this getting kicked around a little

Especially in the US, where the average worker gets around 10-15 days vacation total in a year. If you prefer to do the multi-day drives, that’s your choice, but recognize that choice likely requires you to shorten the amount of time you actually spend on-site for your vacation.

Agreed 100%. I just can’t get over the intro to this story.

Regarding restaurants traveling back in time, I think the biggest question is whether or not you could get people to eat there in the 1950's. Tastes were just drastically different and all your customers were raised in that culture - nobody is going to eat your special sriracha burger in 1953; they’re looking at that

According to the linked articles, it’s based on the actual wireless radio signals being sent between the USB dongle and the mouse. One article says 100 meters, one article says 200 meters...and it appears that these tests were done in open areas, without the usual concrete, brick, wallboard, etc that degrades signals

For everyone else—myself included—I recommend investigating whether there are any other parking services near your airport.

This morning they ruled out a gas leak and they’ve also said they do not suspect foul play.

One other point: OKC was going basically nowhere with Westbrook and George. In the three years since Durant left, OKC has won four total playoff games total, has never finished in the Top 3 in their own conference, and hasn’t seriously sniffed the second round.

if it’s deep enough you can’t see the pavement

Exactly. People are forgetting or ignoring it, but there’s a pretty clear trend that incumbent Presidents almost always win re-election unless there’s either a massive scandal or a big economic collapse. Trump has proven that’s he’s completely immune to scandal...and right now, the economy is (perceived to be) humming

I’d guess it depends on what that “same dish is”.

From the company’s perspective, sure.

Except instead of doing something malicious you just tell everyone else how to do the malicious thing you just figured out how to do.
