Speaking as a Swede who has lived in the US for many years, the cultural difference when it comes to nudity is huge. In Sweden you’d think nothing of being in the sauna naked with (also naked) members of the opposite sex, for example. It’s just not a big deal.

If you clean regularly and keep your windows and doors closed at night, insect repellent is hardly needed, even in tropical climates. Another thing we have to do (we live in hot and humid HK) is keep food items like flour and biscuits in airtight containers. Otherwise those #”¤!¤”# ants get there every time. Followed…

I’ve never understood air fresheners. If you keep your home even barely clean they are not needed. It just seems as if you’re filling your house with artificial chemical smell.

Fair dinkum. However you are very unlikely to die in an airborne emergency. Even in accidents involving fatalities, the survival rate is much better than even. If the masks have come down, you are very likely to survive without injuries. The figure is something like 90%+ survival rate for aircraft accidents.

The hoses provide pure oxygen. However the masks are diluter type, meaning the oxygen is mixed with ambient air. The partial pressure of oxygen inhaled will never be higher than at sea level.
