I'm with you. Gordo Cooper was made of better stuff. He slept soundly and had to be woken up for his launch.

The Terminator is my second favorite horror film of all time, just after Alien.

The whole bullets in a pressurized cabin thing has been way overblown by Hollywood. If a bullet pierced the pressure vessel, there would naturally be air escaping through the tiny hole but the pressurization system would be more than able to maintain pressure. The aircraft probably leaks more than that in total

Beat me to it...

I am also a big Ioan Gruffud fan but I am not that big a fan of him in this role.

I don't even watch this show anymore, but I still enjoy your recaps. Actually I enjoy them way more than I enjoyed the episodes I watched.

Fair point. :)

I'll try that!

Maybe I'm reaching but I think in general Chinese culture has a much more long-term outlook than Western, and in particular American culture. This might somewhat explain how this style of film-making is different.

It might just be me but I couldn't get through this book. The story felt really disjointed and the chapter breaks seemed to dump you somewhere new every time without any explanation or clarification. I also found it dull in the extreme.

Avatar's story was basically Dances with Wolves, but since that movie was set in Ye Olde Westerne Frontiere and Kevin Costner blablablablablabla and Native Americans blablablabla, it was "good" while Avatar was science fiction and therefore "not art".

I though Lorre had reached rock bottom during the last few seasons of 2½ Men, but Mom demonstrated that even when you have reached rock bottom, you can still start digging. At least in 2 Broke Girls, the tasteless sex jokes are delivered with some panache. And there's Oleg. Love Oleg...

Unless you are a member of The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, you cannot.

A "Dry Martini" uses gin. And then there is a "Vodka Martini". While I will reluctantly accept that some people like the flavor (de gustibus no est disputandum), a "Vodka Martini" is not a "Dry Martini".

Aviation Gin. I'd never heard of it until now. As a pilot I must now have it... Thanks for feeding my obsession. My wife will "thank" you separately later. ;)

But what the hell, I'll probably buy a bottle eventually.

I was surprised as well. The guy's deadpan is superb.

Any time.
