That last paragraph is a perfect summary of what is wrong with the New 52….

We're not detracting from he because he's doing something new. We're annoyed because he thinks he is when it will probably just be a mediocre performance deriviative of the many versions of the character come before.

I'm excited for these new Vertigo books. That imprint used to be so influential and gave us so many great (and weird) books. I'd love if it could get back to where it was at its peak.

Yeah, his name on art usually means I'll pick up at least an issue. Even if the writing isn't great at least I know it will be very nice to look at.

Sounds right. I fell off Fables a while before it ended and I don't think a single vertigo book has been on my pull since then. They haven't had a Preacher, Sandman, Lucifer, Swamp Thing, Hellblazer, or Doom Patrol level book in a long time

Black Panther got push up six months

The first volume had a lot of potential in it. I loved the art-work and thought the script was passable. I definitely would have liked to see a new writer, but Latour is very good and maybe this one will be better.

Marvel has had a vendetta against my longbox since the mid 2000s when they decided every new creative team required a new #1 issue.

It's classic Marvel though. They can never fully commit to any sort of relaunch. For all the New 52's many (maaaannnny) faults at least DC committed to a reboot. I didn't particularly want a Marvel reboot, but they could have at least tried to follow the stated theme of the relaunch

When did Lois Lane die her hair blonde?

Considering 85% of comics are full of frowning I think you have the better of the industry right now. Maybe you're just not a Spider-Man fan? So here's an idea, let Spider-Man be Spider-Man and just read other comics.

Peter Parker isn't dead though?

Oh wait…I'd have to read a Mark Millar comic to enter this contest? Well…fuck that.

I don't remember the last time I wasn't angry at Mark Millar…this feeling is…strange

Mark Millar has officially run out of cool premises that he can fill with rape, incest, misogyny and ultra-violence

Grayson is so fucking good every month. With Batman, Batgirl, Gotham Academy and We Are Robin being consistently great as well this is about as good as the Batman Family of books has ever been.

It's called a flashback.

Yeah, it really says a lot about how great Pak's Action Comics run has been that I am perfectly willing to put up with Supe's godawful character design.

Tim Kring must really like the Xmen…

Bob Kane, arguably, never even drew an issue of Batman. If he did it was probably just the first issue. He would occaisionally do breakdowns but everything else was ghost artists. Probably for the best, he was a shit penciler
