Running around and killing Brood is the best hobby for a super hero to be honest.

I avoid talking about comics on the internet. My comics internet intake is limited to a few articles here and the delightful "Rachel and Miles X-Plain the X-men"

Yeah, considering a movie with a talking Racoon and Tree, that received absolutely no in universe mention before hand, made all the money last summer I feel like pre-emptively declaring this movie a failure is a but much.

Seriously, the Brood Saga is no "Dark Phoenix" rip-off. I'd honestly argue its a better written (if less important) story than Dark Phoenix, if only because Claremont had improved as a writer by then.

I'm sorry….why does Miles Morales not count? The fact that there is a half black-half latino Spider-Man who has (arguably) become more popular and has (definitely) been better written than Peter Parker just..doesn't count? I'm confused by this statement.

Yeah, it's hard for me to enjoy his earlier works knowing what he's like now. It's very hard to ignore the strains of the Miller to Come when reading TDKR or even Born Again.

Is there a reason you didn't go for GRRM or the Got show runners? I feel like that is a much more relavent and valid comparison

If you want criticism of Whedon's over reliance on certain tropes you could, idk, read the reviews of his shows on this site? They weren't 100% glowing by any definition

THERE WAS LITERALLY AN ARTICLE THAT MADE FUN OF HIM FOR TJIS YESTERDAY

It also serves as Angel's moral event horizon. If you look at Buffy season two as the Dark Pheonix Saga (which it totally is), its the "Jean blows up a star" moment.

Um, Zerp significant deaths on Angel? Doyle, Fred, Cordy, Wesley?

You're also missing the articles point that Shonda tends not to adress the emotional consequences of character deaths on her show, while I would argue that Whedon does an excellent job of that

"….mommy?"

Joss really takes the phrase "kill your darlings" to heart. It's just as much a feature of his comics writing as well as TV.

I'm a leaf on the wind….

Heimdall does get some legitimately badass moments in Simonson's run on Thor.

Maybe, I have deleted early incarnations of xforce from brain. That sounds like a potential Liefeld idea though.

"I am Groot"

I feel like the X-men would work for the format. When they're written well they're equal parts character drama/cape comic. Sadly, this will probably be an mcu property, so I doubt that. I just pray to God Deadpool isn't involved.

Of course it turns out to just be a Doombot. It's always a Doombot.
