I love this truck and I do love Jalopnik, I’ve been a follower since 2008.  But for the love of god, can you guys just write automotive articles without predicating them on heated and politically debated topics.  Just providing a hyperlink doesn’t add to any credibility and it takes away from the actual content at

I read the article, and your hate is palpable. Was that your intent?

I would imagine the more mundane offerings (Cruzes, crossovers/SUVs/trucks) are way more profitable for them. That, and more common, so they don’t have to order something or look around their network to transfer it.

This is why people tolerate Tesla’s poor build quality and Elon’s antics: NO DEALERS!!!!!

The hummer is probably doing that 300mi on 90% of the battery (180kWh)*. That gives you 1.67mi/kWh. Since a gallon of gas has 33.7kWh of energy, the hypothetical full size truck would need to get at least 56mpg to match the efficiency, right?

Rivian is the worst of both worlds, to me.

It’s not just EVs. It’s everything now.

What, you don’t do small engine repair for fun? It’s so relaxing, after a 3-day Odyssey into the depths of your car’s engine bay, to be able to take a completely non-functional piece of yard equipment and just swap out the entire intake and electrical system for $17 on eBay and have a machine that would’ve cost $750

Well, that’s probably the least damaging hummer leak online so far.

SNR-300 wasn’t just any nuclear reactor. It was a sodium-cooled fast breeder reactor that was intended to address the scarcity of uranium in Germany. SNR-300 was cancelled, and Germany abandoned fast reactor development. The Russians continued it and now have two operational breeder plants.

Do you think you could make better use of an aborted nuclear power facility that doesn’t have any of that pesky radiation to worry about?

Yes it is nonsense to want the interior of a car you buy to enjoy to be a place you want to spend time in.

Eye of the beholder and all, and I might be just a bit biased, but there’s no way that thing is better looking than this:

This is like the 3rd or 4th time they’ve done something like this. Their new models are apparently so generic that they have to constantly call back to their 30-year old flagship car to drum up any interest.

no one wants a racing series that says “F*** it, just load that 20 gallons of fuel with the fastest way you can possibly think of...”

Montana went to a fixed speed limit because someone fought a speeding ticket (in an R&P zone) to a sufficiently high court level. The fatality rate from collisions hit an all time low under R&P and increased dramatically once it was replaced with a fixed speed limit.

That’s not how I remember it; my understanding is Montana had Reasonable and Prudent, and it went away because the Federal government threatened to take away highway funding if Montana didn’t institute a speed limit (I believe that was when they instituted the 55mph mandate, but I’m likely just conflating things there)
