I agree - though Hertz does give me the good stuff for free, because President’s Circle. But even the good stuff I drive moderately because I am usually in an unfamiliar place in an unfamiliar car, tired, and half lost. And I am too old to jeopardize my low insurance rates by getting caught hooning by the PoPo.

I keep hearing people say that wages haven’t kept up with inflation, but it isn’t true. If you’re not getting cost of living raises as much, it’s because cost of employer benefits (namely healthcare) have gone up. Or maybe it’s you.
