Are you high? GM is building some of the best handling cars on Earth. The Alpha platform is still revelatory.

I suspect that we're going to see them drop a drive by wire shifter, a la video game control shifter. The DCT is stated to be capable of shifting directly between any two gears (which I think is true of all DCTs, but they specifically mentioned it) and they patented that clutch by wire setup. I'm hoping they give us a

I keep musing about putting a K1600 engine in a Miata. Seems like a magical mill.

Remember that GM has some of the most astonishingly horrible dealers on earth. As such and like all specialized cars offered by GM through the years, they will be completely ignored and bemoaned by the sales people. [/bitterVoltOwner]

It’s rare to hear these cars seemingly run out of power so quickly. The downforce they run at Silverstone must just be astonishing, because these cars make stupid power anymore.

Remember, they generate electricity with their turbochargers. Anti-lag not only helps throttle response, but helps continue power generation.

Fair enough with the Club Sport.

GT2RS being track only.

The GT’s performance is pitifully underwhelming for a car with as many compromises as it has. I wanted to love it, but it’s a total disappointment to me.

Wut?

I was referencing the incredibly clean grids in those locations; being largely dominated by nuclear and hydro. Assuming the intent here is a means of transportation with low environmental footprint, those nations/regions were already doing a great job.

I’d say France, Sweden, Ontario, Quebec, and the Pacific Northwest have been running significant numbers of ultra-low carbon trains in useful service for quite a while.

What is a high-speed camshaft? Seems counter to proper valvetrain operation.

I wonder if this new one will finally be measurably better in any performance metric versus a host of much more livable, cheaper cars?

I agree! The E60 is just as hideous now as it was when it came out. Truly ageless repulsion; an impressive achievement.

I won’t attempt the false modesty of saying “we do ok” or “comfortable, but not ‘rich’, per se.” My wife and I do very well and most would label us as wealthy, especially due to us not living in a city.

At least the latest trucks can legitimately claim cooling as the driver for the styling absurdity. Everyone thinks the torque/HP wars in trucks are about mechanical components when it’s probably more cooling design (and chassis). BMW has a good part of that grill doing nothing. Just ugly for ugly’s sake. That said,

I had a similar idea, shittr; but it turns out it was already a “thing” in Yur-rope.

It really doesn’t take that long. There are a fair amount of contaminated parts which will solve themselves by sitting (decay is a beautiful thing). With dose avoidance being a positively absurd obsession/metric in the industry, it has become cheaper to build up a fund, let it cover your costs to hold the plant, and
