Removing children from families for the reason of poverty is never acceptable. Why don't they spend the money resettling the kids in families instead of institutionalizing them? The ones that have families that is.

Yeah DRC is a whole different level of mess regarding street kids. After years in a nearby country I just automatically get a bit... cynical when I hear people talk about street kids. You seem very aware of the realities though.

ok so the one orphanage you worked in did things well. That really is meaningless in the greater picture of the problems in international adoption and orphanages. In so many places Americans do swoop in and take kids away from families they could have been resettled in.

so what about the one that are victims of trafficking? Do we ignore the very real problem of trafficking in the sex industry? Craigslist, Backpages and now Tinder are all methods used to "market" trafficking victims. Doesn't it make sense to use those same mediums to make the demand side aware that not all sex workers
