Yes that’s roughly 20% the cost for the cheaper EV’s. But that $7,500 won’t stop Tesla’s being sold. The average price of cars going off the lot right now is also conveniently about the same cost of a new Chevy Bolt (without the $7,500).

Honestly, EVs already have enough steam ahead that this should be fine. 

My mom special ordered a 2000 with leather interior, 5-speed manual and the “awd”. Currently replacing ball joints on it and then will drive it for another 5+ years.
