@ForensicGuy: Saying that you don't see the attraction, then comparing it to a bug can easily be construed as considering it disgusting. You'd have to forgive me if you mean otherwise with a leadin like that. :p

@ForensicGuy: A lobster is not an insect and if it were, there are plenty of people out there who eat insects too.

So long as the ATX form factor doesn't go away, I can upgrade my computer forever too since I can replace anything in the case.

@rogger_frogger: you're not getting away that easily! What was in it? :p

This is carried over balance plus new expenses. So basically, the average iPhone owner is heavily in debt. I think this study is likely correct because the iPhone is marketted to the masses and the average American *is* pretty heavily in debt.

@Ericwalsh90: They make rack mounts for my DVD changer too, but that doesn't it make it an enterprise product... :)

@twonine: Exactly. No slots for SAN, no SCSI, multi-port ethernet, etc. I can see using a mini for a home server, but I'd hesitate to use it for anything that involves the welfare of a business.

@MadMacs: Just because it has rack mounts doesn't mean it's a rack

Mac minis and Mac pros are not suitable rack mount machines. Unless

@A Flock of Smegal's: Ignorant much? Unless Lightpeak can deliver power (which it can't if it's purely optical) it cannot be considered a full replacement for USB. Perhaps a replacement for eSata / Sata, but not USB.

@Scott: IEEE 1394 had declined from the main populace to the specialty market a long time ago. It was trumped by USB which was a competing standard free of heavy licensing requirements. Apple also backed floptical and zip - both of which did not outlive the floppy drives that they were supposed to replace.

@fotoguy99: Hm? By hiring an army of 14 year olds to build the thing?

My cordless Mamba mouse pauses all the time. It's driving me nuts to be doing something then have it stop responding. Decent hardware. The software and drivers is the suck, however.

@Who's Soap?: You'd think that a self-proclaimed grammar Nazi, would know that that correction has nothing to do with grammar.

@VenomIreland: you thinking of the SandForce controllers?

@★☆★ Waka ★☆★: Um, Apple is not the law. It's against the Terms of Service and License Agreement, but that hardly makes it illegal.

@AacidusX: Yes, but that's *Carolina*, not California.$ 1.7M there gets you a heck of a lot more than a track house. Considering their $6k initial investment, I'm sure that they are quite happy.

@Dingoangst: somehow I think WWII would have gone a lot differently if the US didn't build aircraft carriers.

I don't see the point. I have hardwood floors and the swiffer holds only a little portion of the dirt. Most of it gets pushed around and I try to collect it all in a few spots which I later come back and vacuum up. It looks like this robot is just going to redistribute the hair and dirt all over the floor so you're

Ow! My eye! ... and that's the end of that company...
