I love the fact that all her explanations are in a language that most of the crew need an interpreter and that we need subtitles to understand - it reiterates everything she says and allows for an extra layer of dramatic effect. Also I just find it amusing that almost everything she says now is received with shock and…
Here's why I'm actually enjoying the show more with each episode. See, a few episodes ago I would have been, at best, ambivalent about whether Dr. Emmett decided to chow down on his faithful four-legged companion. But last night I was HUGELY relieved when he decided against tucking into some scooby snacks. Because i…
That's most likely what's going on. Thing is, brown adipose tissue plays a more prominent role in mice - it helps generate heat, important for small or hibernating mammals - than in humans.
But she used the stolen hundred grand to start a cosmetics company so that she'd look ten years younger when she grew older. Actually I totally agree, it's kind of distracting how often characters in the show just aren't as old as they should be.
That's a really good point about the importance of setting (Walter's lab, the Magus, Boyd Crowder's bar - yes, bars seem particularly evocative - come to mind on current TV) and I enjoyed the first hour more than any other hour so far mainly because of the dark and foreboding prison setting.
They did two things.
I'm soooo tired of reading these ridiculous comments after pretty much every medically oriented piece posted here. If you're going to invoke absurd, unfounded conspiracy theories get an imagination and come up with something different.
There's a very important point to be made here;
Noone can communicate science with such clarity and passion as Neil deGrasse Tyson. The fact that his response was awe-inspiring despite the truly, truly awful music background is only a testament to his amazing abilities.
Looks like I'll be watching Thursday's episode of Awake on Friday at 9pm again....
I see from some of the comments left here that many are finally tired of this show, to the point of extinguishing it from their viewing schedule. Yes, its painfully annoying at times, yes it cheaply exploits our empathies and yes it is often transparently predictable. But, don't you see, if we, the viewers, abandon it…
Swish!!
"everything we know about dark matter"
That punchline caught me totally by surprise. Absolutely brilliant!
Good points, though i can't help thinking that a police shrink would be even more reluctant to send a cop with (possibly) psychotic symptoms out onto the streets. Its an interesting point whether his thoughts and actions would be interpreted as a grief mechanism or clinical psychosis - of course, we, as viewers, are…
One of the best pilots in a long, long time. I watched this in Fringe's usual timeslot and it was a more than worthy substitute - in fact at one point, as Michael begins to sense connections between the two cases he's working, it seemed eerily reminiscent of a Fringe episode that I can't quite put my finger on.
Can't agree about The River failing to fulfill potential. Its at least done a pretty good job of maintaining my level of interest and in the last episode in particular I finally found myself empathising with some of the characters. I think it still has potential - if allowed to realize it. Looking forward to watching…
Yeah, right? I've been waitin' for eons for those anyons. Anyon else?
By Jove, I think you've got it! No, but really, I think that argument has a lot going for it.
