I'm not a biologist, but from what I understand when you have cell death your body just breaks it down. In fact, cancer is what happens wen you don't have cell death and you get continuous replication without cells dying and being broken down when they are no longer needed.

Not if it targets fat cells specifcally. There's a cancer drug that works basically the same way cutting off blood flow to tumors. It's supposedly very effective for those types of cancers.

I think you underestimate the market. It's already pretty common for women who've lost a lot of weight to get breast reduction and/or implants to counteract the sagging caused by all that extra loose skin. If they drug is only really effective on "extra" fat I could see that particular side effect being a minor issue.…
