Is that a new policy? Because I could swear I've seen them here before.

Um...you didn't notice how quickly the mother was there? She must have been only steps away, not exactly in the house catching up on her soaps, ya know. How are those snap judgments working for you?
I respect what you're saying, but by announcing that my dogs bite, there is no question about whether or not you can/should touch or approach them - my dogs. I have no problem instilling fear in a stranger, child or not, about my dogs' possible demeanor, especially since one is not good with children (as previously…
My parents' neighbors have always let their (many) dogs roam the neighborhood freely — they are luckily very friendly and not cat- or other dog-aggressive, but they have nearly been hit by cars and one actually WAS hit by a car. We've complained to them and to animal control more than once over the 14 years my parents…
THIS. My neighbor's Saint Bernard chased my son down the street. As my husband raced down the street to catch the dog before it caught up with our child, the neighbors screamed, "he's a nice dog, he won't hurt him."
Half our goddamn neighborhood lets their dogs just roam around completely unattended and I want to throttle people. There's this little black fluffy thing and a German Shepherd across the street that are nearly always wandering around the street. The owners are not people I want to tell to keep their dogs in check,…
If I see you walking your unleashed dog, I will call animal control, and then the police.
I don't really think that people should let their cats out. But that's more of a consideration for the local wildlife than it is for human beings. While it's possible that a person could be seriously injured by a cat, it's not exactly a reasonable fear.
Dogs are a different story, though. A friend of mine isn't ever…
Freely admit I stole my neighbor's dog over this issue. I walk my cat on leash, so I'm very, very alert to any dogs and take him right back inside if I see anyone passing by with a leashed one. Our neighbor across the street got a gangly shepherd puppy and started letting him just roam free. They would open the door…
I was taught not to approach unfamiliar animals unless the owner invited me to becauseI was taught that every animal had the potential to be violent. To be frank: one of our rescues is NOT good with children. She has never bitten a child, but she does herd and is generally not good around smaller animals. It is very…
My two-year-old son was bitten on the face (22 stitches, hospital, scarred for life) by a friendly dog. "It's okay, he's friendly." The dog-owning couple smiled at us right until the moment the dog struck. Then they seemed a little pissed that our boy had stood there and been attacked.
There really should be a tough licensing process to own a dog. I mean, babies, too, but we can't push our luck.
If your dogs are "territorial-as-fuck" I'm hoping they wear muzzles when out?
I hate this so much. I just got accosted by a chihuahua in the park near my house last week (thankfully, too tiny to do any significant damage). He was circling me and lunging and snarling like crazy, and the owner walked up and said he was just being playful (said dog was also wearing a pink sweater and his name was…
I love one of my coworkers but he lets his dog off leash EVERYWHERE. The dog is nice as hell, but at the end of the day I'm like dude, you don't know what OTHER dogs will do. And you don't know what other people will do. He refuses to listen to me.
What is sad is being forced to put a pit bull down because its a pit bull and for no other reason. This was a dog being an absolute predator towards a young child. That is a serious behavioral issue (prey drive) that is hard to train out of a dog. Euthanizing the dog has to be an option.
Should have trained it better. If one of my dogs attacked a person, I would GLADLY put him down, because then I have failed as a dog owner/trainer.
What is sad is that the neighbor did not keep his dog properly on his property.
Dogs that attack children unprovoked should absolutely be put down.
Hell no that isn't sad. That dog attacked for NO REASON. It's only sad when the dog was protecting someone.
