That’s Cruise (which GM just announced they are shutting down), not Waymo. Both of those companies have remote operators and in Cruise’s case I believe they intervene every few miles. I’m surprised so many people upthread are unaware the self driving taxis out there have remote operators (and not in a 1:1 ratio!)

An Italian sounding/looking guy living in Hawaii arrested in Pennsylvania after double-tapping a guy in New York who lived in Minnesota.

Paying “less than original price for used, but also more than new price” just tells me there are some weapons-grade idiots out there, honestly.

Oh, gotcha!

Ok, this is just cringey in its abuse of animals. I get that they’re a commodity and we eat millions of them every day, but still.

3AM. Inexperienced drivers, at an age known for “impressing friends/girls”. Really fast car.

That’s a beautiful pizza sauce red...

I expect we’ll see more of these. My sister got an EV and recently used it for a long Thanksgiving trip. At first, she was worried about the extra charging time delaying arrive, but it turns out that was a blessing with the little kids. They got to play and run around during the charge and were way better behaved over

I would think that in a slow and more controlled environment, FSD would be rather good as well. seems like it’s driver error.

Remember when that family was killed in the Toyota near San Diego after careening down the highway a high speed unable to stop and Toyota got the initial blame when it turned out to be an incorrectly installed floor mat and the driver didn’t think to throw the thing in neutral and Cole Trickle the engine?

As someone who owned a Tesla for 3 years, this looks very much like a pedal accident. FSD will normally disengage on a brake press or steering wheel turn, and the automatic braking will kick in if you’re about to hit something. But if you’ve got the accelerator jammed to the floor because you think it’s the brake

Remember, NHTSA says pedal confusion accidents happen 44 times per day in the US. But we should first blame the Tesla, then read the car’s logs, then we can blame the victim driver for mashing the go pedal instead of the stop pedal. :)

No time for in-depth reporting, got to get it on the internet for clicks.

Mostly, it depends if the heater is a heat pump (quite efficient) or a simple toaster (not so much).

There is stuff you can do, though. Pre-warm the car while plugged in, for example

I saw your headline and my immediate thought was “Hey dummy, 2015 was only five years ago! That’s not a decade ago!

Shoot, I would import this thing if I could

Now that’s pure BS.
Ask any Porsche owner who has ever owned a Boxster, Cayman, Taycan, or 911 how much they use the frunk on their cars. All you have to do is make the space up front actually usable, and people will actually use it.

True! especially for EVs, but that’s only if you are unhappy enough with the diminished battery capacity to want to spend the money on a new one.

I’d be interested to see what tests they run that show 66% of ice vehicles get above stated range. As a side effect of OCD, I keep meticulous gas records. In over 20 years, several hundred thousand miles, and 10 vehicles, I haven’t had one go over stated range yet. My current crop is a v6 grand Cherokee (55k miles,
