Never going to happen, but mid to late 90s Chevy Cavaliers should have died 20 years ago, but I still see them driving around town. They are the ultimate “needs to die now” vehicle, but they are the Black Knight of vehicles
Unfortunately, 300mi won’t even get me out of my state, unless my vehicle is a boat. Not everyone is the same behind the wheel, but I’m usually well into Georgia before I need to stop or fill up, let alone before anyone in my vehicle wakes up (I like to leave between 8p and 2a, depending on my trip and when I want to…

Norway has high EV sales due to punitive taxes on ICE sales. EV were except for Norway’s 25% VAT. In fact, Norway did not charge VAT on any car sales, until Greens added it to ICE and then Hybrid sales over the last 12 years.
I’ve been on a waitlist for a Chevy Bolt since February and I’m just only hearing that they’re assembling my car in Michigan. Even the dealer wants me to get it. It’s not a dealer problem in my anecdote; it’s a 100% supply problem.
No pistons, so no oil or oil changes, no radiator, so no coolant changes, no transmission, so no transmission work... I’m sure I am forgetting something...

Reckless driving charges?
Can you throw in eight murder charges on top of that too? And wouldn’t this count as domestic terrorism?
It’s a new platform.
Nobody really wants them in the US. Buyers don’t buy them, and the makers don’t want to sell them. If there was any appreciable demand for cheap cars, the cheap cars that are available would sell in more than nominal numbers, and they just don’t. They haven’t for eons.
I’ve done this swap three times - it takes under an hour with no special tools. Removing the interior trim panels takes longer than the entire battery swap!
Yeah, nah, bro.
Yup, I agree with all of this.. Also I think a lot of people dont fully understand what it takes to succeed in a competitive/capacity limited market.
Why would anyone buy this over, say a Model 3, given the price?
The question you might not know is, what does Fiat intend to price this at when it comes to the US, and are they going to bring production to the US to get the tax credit?
