It goes back to my original point about the system being integrated and not a piecemeal approach. With Tesla it’s all integrated into one system. With every other manufacturer it’s segregated and oftentimes left up to Apple or Android for additional functionality.

I did not like the interface for the Audi system with the scroll wheel. It felt like using a blackberry, in 2021, in a car that cost north of $50k.

It’s a big differentiator too. On nearly every other car, the software it comes with is the software it will have for the entirety of its lifespan. Manufacturers sometime offer software upgrades *cough BMW* and charge $1k+ for it. With a Tesla, once a month I tap “upgrade” and I’m done.

I worked at an electrical contractor for a few years (in the office, not as an electrician) and we had to go to a lot of trouble to keep wire safe in our warehouse. We only had Romex, etc. in if we were going to take it out to a job in the next few days, and small diameter stuff was kept stashed away so nobody could

Yeah, its crazy. I remember a handful of years ago Orchard Supply Hardware went out of business - I bought a bunch of large diameter copper pipe from them on the last day of the liquidation sale for practically nothing. I cut it into smaller chunks and took it straight to recycling. Man I felt scummy being around that

a share of the eastern hemisphere market Model S + X were manufactured in Tilburg, Netherlands.”

Same here in Colorado.

Also because at least in CA - there is no option for an aftermarket converter replacement - OEM is the only game in town. Thieves wont bother with an aftermarket converter because they dont contain near the amount of precious metals the OEM ones do so arent worth anything on the scrap market.

I wish I got into the cat-shield game. I would be sipping margaritas at one of my 5 beach homes.

Best deal in EVs (and cars in general) in a LONG time.

That is actually the goal, ideally we would have perfectly level energy demand through the day....

Same thing happened to me once. It was freezing cold so I wanted to wait in the car while it pumped. It filled up and then I heard the gas splashing on the ground.

wait really? Those cheap Bolts and Bolt EUVs are really tempting

If I was not prohibited by an NDA I would love to post the “Field Service Action Alerts” that I get pretty much daily from Ford. Or the service bulletins I get from GM.

Yet, just by your comment you come off as an asshole. I don’t understand all the hate for Tesla. Nobody is holding a gun to your head to buy one. Except maybe in California.

I second the infotainment point. While teslas is not perfect, it’s light years ahead of the competition. Every other manufacturer must consider it to be an afterthought, and it shows.

Yep, not even worth the time to try to remember what TV I bought in that timeframe. How do they even verify it? Do they think everyone will have a receipt for a TV they bought 25 years ago?

I don’t agree that ‘A majority of Americans’ want car free neighborhoods, but I think a lot of people do, and even more would like ‘car-light’ or ‘car optional’ neighborhoods.

Rats I don’t think I have a receipt for that tv I bought in 1995 🤪

The settlement estimates that everyone who applies will receive at least $10 for one TV.”
