Interesting timing because of this Tesla tweet from yesterday:
I am somewhat confident saying there is no restriction on volume of new EV credits, because while they don’t specifically mention it, they do call out on the used EV tax credit that you can only do it once every 3 years, and if I’m reading it correctly each particular vehicle only gets one as well
That too. Like how Cruze has been involved in a fair amount of collisions, but are rarely if ever at fault
The trouble is that law enforcement is generally not good at producing consistent info or making it publicly available, so short or medium term we will probably not be able to get that kind of data for any manufacturer. Tesla has a somewhat unique setup where they’re instantly made aware of any collision due to the…
I don’t see anything specifically excluding multiple new EV purchases in a single year. Though you would need enough income to have that much liability in the first place, but not so much income that you go above the income cap.
Image not posting for some reason, trying in a thread:
These stats are useless without being normalized for sales growth. If Company A made 5 widgets and 2 of them had incidents, and Company B made 100 widgets and 3 of them had incidents, yes, Company B had more incidents, but that is a super misleading way to report on it.
I would suspect most buyers shopping in this price range to begin with would get the tax credit so while it’s not money “off the hood”, it still ends up being the net cost to the consumer. Of course there will be outliers (wealthy buying understated cars and that 7 year auto loan crowd).
Other than those few there are hardly any new EVs under $40,000.
the high-riding pseudo-sedan it calls the Polestar 2
“Man shoveling coal. All over Europe 😂 Really fun to spot with a group of people.”
Both officially announced that in 2025 they will have the Tesla NACS connector integrated into their vehicle. Citations listed from the official press briefing:
Not joking! That does not include the openers. There are two openers, 6:30-6:45 and 7-7:30, then she is on 8-11:30 and plays 44 songs in a row, occasionally with a single-digit minute break while the stage scenery is changed (i.e. a dozen full sized artificial trees rise up from the stage and a small 2-story cabin…
He’s referring to how some of her stage outfits on this tour are leotards, which is basically like what professional dancers wear if you picture one, similar to a one-piece bathing suit. But really most of the costumes are floor length dresses, and she does 16 wardrobe changes during this 44-song 3.5-hour long set.
IMO considering it’s thermostat driven and the +/- is permanently on the bottom edge of the screen, and the vents are saved to your driver profile (so a husband and wife switching cars, it automatically re-adjusts the vents for them along with the steering column, seat, and side mirrors, it’s not really something…
Most EV models can only do J1772 for level 2. There’s a commenter in some thread here that told me he has an older Chevy Bolt that only has a J1772 but not a combo CCS1, so he’s worried if the charging station near him gets upgraded to CCS1, he won’t be able to charge there anymore
huh! yeah I certainly wouldn’t have noticed it if it said 15 mph!
