I’m Native Fuckin’ American. Every single vote I cast is a Hail Mary that something, anything, might change that benefits me and my kind. If I can vote every damn time, the rest of y’all disaffected youth can march your asses down to the polls too.

Go away, Vlad. It’s past your bedtime.

Exactly! Also my handle is stalefrybread because Mom used to leave last night’s fry bread in the oven overnight and I would eat that the next day with jelly on it

Aww, c’mon. I love NextDoor. My new quarantine hobby has been trolling racists and rich ppl on it. Try it with me, I swear it’s fun.

Hot take: White ppl need to stop adopting children of color. You wanna help them? Help their parents keep them. Help their countries develop so they can be cared for by their own people. Or go the fuck home and get a plant.

This.

I really think we need to start this country over. Rewrite the Constitution-the French are on, like, their 5th constitution. I have always hated living in a country that reveres a constitution that codified slavery and said my Native ancestors were not citizens.

You did not just try to school me on my own culture did you? Ugh I’m gonna go hang out over at The Root.

Our nation existed long before a bunch of cult rejects from some island with shit food stumbled over here & decided they didn’t want to pay their fair share.

Improving one’s life with some creature comforts in the face of state violence—in the face of state forces that can make living comfortably a challenge—is an act of political resistance”

It’s so maddening because 99% of women do not lie about these things. Then one dumb shit white woman goes on camera lying about these things and suddenly every WOC who comes forward with her #MeToo story is suspect.

This.

Like any of these right wing COVID-loving nut jobs shop at Pottery Barn.

Don’t expect Hollywood to ever really critique our government. The film industry pretends to be rebellious, edgy, and forward-thinking but it’s largely superficial. Why? Because it is a business. They don’t want audits like the porn industry got during Bush II. They don’t want hearings like during the McCarthy era.

I am a sexual assault survivor. I publicly came forward with my own story in 1990 and have outed a few different abusers and assaulters since then, each in a slightly different way with varying results.

I remember in college (Early 90s) men openly laughing at the concept of date rape. If we went on a date with them & if we got drunk....that was basically consent.

I guess it depends on where you live. I’m in Oakland and it’s super diverse racially, economically, and age-wise. Compliance with mask-wearing has been pretty high everywhere except the hiking trails, but our county has an exception for exercise.

I feel terrible for my stylist and her salon. I love going, I love the conversation, I love reading the fashion mags I don’t subscribe to anymore, I love the people watching and hearing about her cat.

Gen-Xer here. I really don’t find any of this mainstream adoption of cool shit problematic....I expected all of the “underground” stuff I was into to eventually be (a) incredibly uncool or (b) co-opted and re-purposed by a younger generation.
