These are just 2 stone cold classic episodes. Tons of laugh-out-loud jokes, some nice sci-fi bits (cloned politicians presumably to maximize electability, Stumbos 4 with its high gravity and squat little trees, and how useful would the Truth-o-Scope be!?) and I can't think of a better choice for Earthican president

Franchises definitely. I've seen a few local shops that expand and are still able to maintain quality, but really once they get past that third location you really see diminished quality across the board. As long as they're still making their own dill pickles you're probably fine.

They're supposed to…

What I take away from this is that these people don't know how to make a quality sandwich. Look at these things - barely any layering, no folds to increase cold-cut volume, terrible condiment choice! They might as well pass a slice of Wonderbread over a jar of Miracle Whip before putting on a single slice of bologna

I love pedantic Billy West, and I love how prickly he gets when he thinks people are making light of his profession.

Even in these formal shorts I feel like a failure.

Nice, thanks! I have the full Fox run on DVD but I haven't used them in years. It's just so much easier to rewatch them on Netflix.

There's one very subtle bit in Fry and the Slurm Factory that I also loved - the slight color change on Bender when he removes Amy's watch. I don't know if the reddish tint they give him is supposed to be related to his 900 degree temperature or just a general marker for "unwell" but it's such a nice touch.

These are 2 reliable episodes that don't quite reach the heights of absurdity that some episodes of Futurama manage but they're still pretty damn funny. I'm not sure what's a better background gag, the Hot Logs on sale in the 7^11 or that the sewer is full of dry cleaners. I think one of my favorite bits is at the

Oof, this is honestly disappointing. I'd have hoped he would at least lend his name to something classy like cheap wine or Hustler again.

Oh my god, I found it (@avclub-82cf46948ca0f531a256e38473c9282f:disqus, you should check this out too) - The 1984 move Up The Creek, where a bunch of college screw-ups compete in a rafting race (once again, Youtube provides.) It features, among other things, a theme song by Cheap Trick, Stephen Furst (Flounder from

Haha, I got the same assurances about them including the more 'practical' aspects of filmmaking! I think they finally included a Production track for the undergrad program in 2013 - until then it was still all about the Critical track. I didn't even realize that Hopkins offered comedy writing classes! God, that must

Now I'm picturing Sean O'Neal in a compellingly short miniskirt! It's not a pretty sight.

Oh no, I didn't graduate! I'm a certified college dropout. But it would have been a degree in film and media studies. You?

And yet in "Bender Should Not Be Allowed On Television" he's shown effortlessly blasting through a video game without even looking at the screen! God, who'd have expected an animated Fox show to have inconsistencies!

First off, Gunter is just some great voice work from Tress MacNeille (also the voice of Jenny McNeal.) She just hits this note of snotty vulnerability that's perfect.

I think the salary information is newsworthy as well, especially as it reveals a pay gap that seems to break down along gender lines. The revelations about Jennifer Lawrence (dismissed by Sorkin as her being "undervalued") is also notable - Lawrence and Amy Adams both got 2% less back end points on American Hustle

Well, if you build off of @Drinking_with_Skeletons:disqus idea that as the robots build each successive generation they try to redesign their systems to more closely approximate simple humanoid biology it's entirely possible they've programmed a robo-pituitary and other robo-glands. Besides, we know robots can fall in

Oh man, that was just an excellent, sublime payoff to that whole running joke.

That's a good point - if robots are attempting to emulate Earthican society why wouldn't they try to copy the human reproductive process? In a way it's a hilariously sad take on Data from ST:TNG and his quest to become human.
