Bad idea. There are few directors that I would think could pull off an HP Lovecraft inspired series. It WOULD be cool to see a series inspired by Lovecraft though, just with someone competent in keeping up tension and putting a face to what is normally considered indescribable. 

I kind of liked the idea of that show admittedly however this pair would not have been able to pull it off with any nuance. If the idea was handed off to the Watchmen team, MAYBE. But then again Watchmen is probably the best iteration of alternate history America we’re going to get from HBO. 

Something can make a lot of money and still not be considered a success in the long run. If fandom ire resulting from the final seasons kill HBO’s plans for spinoffs, it could harm HBO in the long run

- With the Wife we are now replaying Final Fantasy IX on PC with the pretty mods. This is going to be like the third attempt to get through the whole game without getting distracted somewhere in Disc three. We currently are just starting Disc two.

Final Fantasy IX. Just bought it for PC to replay it with the fan mods that update the backgrounds as well as the soundtrack. I’m quite thankful this game exists as it was amazing even way back on the PS1.

Grading on a curve Watchmen is doing better at limiting its exposition then His Dark Materials is. On the flip side there is The Mandalorean which has been enjoying a streak of explaining very little of what’s going on and assuming you are enough of a Star Wars fan to keep up, which is fine.

Sort of leans into the idea that Ozymandias is good at working people and seeing trends, however technology as a whole was a bit of a messy thing for him. Maybe that’s why he went generic squid as opposed to robotic invader.
