Fair. Most fell to foreign powers though and not necessarily inward struggle alone.

The beef here is Obama is saying something Splinter considers a Centrist deflection when really it’s just the reality we live in.
Hot Take: The United State’s overall revenue and power can be tied to waging war.
I dunno, it may work better if they get into what they are specifically cutting as opposed to just saying “Defense spending cuts.”
I thought so. This is definitely not the way to go about things then once the general election happens. If they want to encourage a more diverse voting, they’re gonna need to work in some messages on how to create more jobs and the like too. It cannot be just about reforms.
I have no editing skills. Still I’ve spoken about it, the rules of the internet is someone is gonna make it now.
Fair response. The metaphor is slightly off then in that light. It may be more accurate to say what you said - she potentially started a message that went against their narrative, and this is their attempt to discredit said message and have her fall in line.
Every needed change the Democrat candidates talk about will require some sort of tax in order to fund them. That sort of talk is probably not going to go over well in the general election which...really sucks because it’s pretty responsible.
Oh yeah they did, didn’t they? Sanders was to her defense like almost immediately and it’s that sort of action that tends to make me still like him as a candidate despite ageism and whatnot. I’d like to see him at least as a Vice President, or maybe I’d prefer him in that role.
Not that crazy as far as WHY they did that, just simply wrong that they did.
Again, fair. I’m probably just ignorant of those in Congress actively defending her. I know the resolution to condemn antisemitism was changed because of her supporters, I just don’t recall much mention on who they were and what they are doing besides that to support her position.
She called out AIPAC first. I’m not saying she was wrong, just that if you want to look at a root cause for all of this it’s sort of hard to look elsewhere.
Fair enough. Are people following her though? The conversation is still just centered on her after all.
Agreed. Being right doesn’t mean you’re immune to backlash though. Those that are wrong in power will do what they can to stay in power.
Then they would probably lose that sweet lobbying money that they’re getting? Which would be ironic considering Schumer’s statement. Schumer, who recently said he wants to make my area a big firearms manufacturer. Ugh.
There was going to be no clean way against this. I think if she was serious in going after this lobbying group though, she should have done so in an organized effort with her fellow freshmen who most likely share the same idea and message as her. However since it was off the cuff that’s not what we ended up with.
I think she has gotten a response greater then she anticipated from a twitter post, that’s for sure. However she called this organization by name, therefore she should have expected them to go after her in some capacity.
We live in the realm of extremes though. That sort of nuance does not keep the lobbyists around I suppose.
I fully agree. However they all want to keep support from this group so they’re gonna do their damnedest to both call out Omar while also not really do anything about her directly.
Fair is fair she is the one who sort of opened the flood gates on this one.
