I recommend diving into New Game +, if only because with a powerful character it's an absolute pleasure to steamroll the early game enemies who gave you such trouble before.

I knew it was coming so made sure I went to Tomb of Giants AFTER Lost Izalith and collected my little maggot hat in preparation. Being spoilered on some aspects of the game beforehand worked out quite well. Otherwise, shit, that would have sucked.
